Wow, as you see our number of articles per day ratio really jumped big time! Josh posted
his second article, and its really scary one if I may add! I think these italic introductions by me aren't necessary any more, they are here just to inform new visitors that we have some mighty new co-editors on this site. If you are interested to participate in this web 2.0 beta project, drop me an email, and we'll see what we can do ;) - VurdlakCo-editor Josh here, with some new 3D Street Art. I love these! For those who don't know, 3D Street Art are just like your regular footpath art (done with chalk or paint on footpaths), except they are done in such a way that they appear 3D! In this case, the shark looks like it's really coming out of the path! Open up the article to see them all... - Mighty JoshJulian Beever's Sidewalk Rafting Illusion

Lately we haven't heard anything new
from Julian Beever and his 3d sidewalk chalk-paintings. But today I found out he has just finished his latest piece of art for Charleston Festival 2007. His masterpieces never stop shocking me with their incredible 3D realism. You have to remember, all of his paintings are anamorphic, and if you look back at from above, or simply from different angle, you'll see just an ordinary bulged painting. This photo set (more pictures inside the post) is one of my new favorites. Look, he even added a crocodile awaiting his prey. Similar to that lobster motive, or even scarier Eduardor Relero's drawings. For hundred more of these magnificent chalk drawings, visit 3d Chalk Drawings category! This amazing photo set has been photographed by Rick Lee, who found himself at the right location in perfect time. Great job Lee!

Last night I was
browsing the web for some new illusions. Here and then I feel obligated to post few of my own, not only user submissions. There are still over hundred emails in my gmail box to be approved, so don't worry if your's hasn't been posted yet. They come in rate where it gets hard for me to follow. Still, those that are the best, get higher priority, so please send only true and awesome ones ;)For today I prepared a gallery of some new (and awesome) sidewalk chalk drawings. I am aware there are already hundreds in belonging category, but I felt there weren't any new ones lately, so I uploaded these. Those of you that haven't seen anything similar before, will have hard time believing me when I tell you that escalator below is nothing but a "mere drawing" on a concrete floor. The chicks just positioned themselves in the correct position and gave additional reality to the whole set. If you go inside the article (assuming you are viewing this from the homepage), you will see bunch more photos taken at different times of day from different angles. Amazing!I have couple more new chalk drawings on my laptop, similar to Julian Beever's art work, and will post them soon! If you noticed, I underlined keywords in this text (as usual) and connected them to the best of sidewalk art, so be sure to check all of them (links in this article) and decide which one's your favorite!

3D CHALK

How would you like to be walking down the sidewalk and then suddenly fall into a hole like these guys? Take a little closer look at who has fallen into the hole. It's tough to tell but it looks like George W. Bush and John Major, the former British Prime Minister have fallen into the hole.... and is that Tony Blair looking into the camera? Regardless, this sidewalk optical illusion is just downright incredible!

A Better World Illusion

Look at this reference
by Orange, it gives you a glimpse of a better world. I'm not sure if Orange is a telecommunications provider, or deals with something else, but obviously they tried to give us impressions that if we use their products, we can expect more enjoyable future. Who knows... At least their pavement art campaign is awesome to look at. I always admired all those 3d street illusions. I'm big fan of creative advertising, thats why you can see similar illusions posted on this site often. If you had enough of them just say so, and I'll stop posting them so often, but something gives me impression you like it as well. Look how realistic the hole in the pavement looks - I wouldn't be so brave stepping in the middle of it, even though I know its just a horizontal mural...Oh, concerning my previous post, if you wonder which was the first illusion ever posted on this site, the answer is - this one!

Julian Beever is at it again! This time he made two new wonderful 3D chalk drawings. I love this kind of street art. If you jump inside this article you can see realistic lobster illustration, with additional photo from different point of view. If you somehow missed his previous chalk drawings, be sure to check the right category in my sidebar. There you can also find some marvelous 3D painted rooms, 3D painted buildings as well as some arts from different authors. Enjoy! This first picture you see shows that beneath every street there may be some archeologist's treasure.
Palm Tree Shadow

What the...?! How come this pole has a shadow shaped like palm tree, when it's obvious it has nothing to do with it? Well, it's a campaign of some sort, to protect the nature and rise people's awarness, and the palm tree shadow is just painted on the sidewalk to give impression it's there. Clever idea, have to admitt...

Pavement Art Illusions From Germany

Manfred Stader and Edgar Müller are
the the street painters whose talent is behind these incredible pavement drawings. Having traveled the world, and studied many type of paintings, they now run their own business in Germany creating pavement paintings and street art, often for companies that pay them to create unique chalk drawing campaigns for them. If you are a regular visitor of Mighty Optical Illusions website, you'll notice some similarity with Julian Beever's stuff, mostly through colorful pallets Manfred and Edgar use, along with incredibly realistic motives.Oh yeah, I also added some funny clips at the bottom of my blog's sidebar. You can check them out if you are in for a good laugh...

Eduardor Relero's Chalk Drawings

As I added in
Luke's previous post, our co-bloggers started really productive. Luke immediately composed another awesome article, containing some of the never before seen 3D pavement art photos. Read his article and check for more photos inside. There you can also find same locations, just shot from different angles. - VurdlakEduardor Relero has made these amazing chalk drawings in the streets of Spain. However, this don't look like your average Julian Beever drawings, each one could contain a hidden message about poverty or death such as "Amnesty International", but I'm stumped for what these pictures could mean. I especially like the rich man or women holding the gun, it took me a while to see that. I also like the baby head and the skull drawings because they're done so well! I appreciate the skull one more though, because if you look closely at the background the sun appears to be right above the drawing, but the drawing itself seems to create its own light source. How amazing is that?Draw yourself to the article and see his brilliant creations. For now i say Muy Bien Eduardor! - Luke
